Six Flags Magic Mountain was spectacularly decked out on a chilly Saturday night for the opening of Holiday in the Park.

Now in its fourth year, Holiday in the Park – which runs for 28 nights beginning Saturday, Nov. 18 and going through Sunday, Dec. 31 – features six uniquely themed “wow zones,” live shows and entertainment, seasonal eats and drinks, and rides and attractions.

As darkness fell, more than a million lights illuminated the night to resounding “oohs and aahs” of parkgoers, and “snow” flurries wafted gently toward the ground.

Holiday music filled the air, mixing with the whoosh of the roller coasters.

Could the end of DACA hurt foreign investment in Southern California?

As he met with business leaders recently in downtown Los Angeles, Stephen Cheung listened carefully as a Mexican official expressed financial concerns about President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA.

Cheung, president of the World Trade Center Los Angeles, which leads the region’s efforts to attract foreign investors, soon realized why Salomón Chertorivski, Mexico City’s secretary for economic development, was so concerned.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  — At first there was no hint of distress in the 911 calls, no sense of a crisis unfolding. The six calls made from the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills between 3 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, the day the first eight patients died, show that several patients were in respiratory distress and at least two were in cardiac
