Negotiations began this week for a rematch between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin, who staged a thrilling split draw in Las Vegas on Saturday.
HBO will show a replay of the event Saturday at 7 p.m.
Traditionally Canelo fights on Cinco de Mayo weekend, and in 2018, that holiday falls squarely on a Saturday.
Tom Loeffler, Golovkin’s promoter, said the middleweight champion would prefer another fight before then.
